March Meeting 2014

 

Our next meeting is on Wednesday the 5th of March, 2014 at 8pm in the Clayton Hotel, Ballybrit, Galway.

 

WILLS/ENDURING POWER OF ATTORNEY ETC  Thelma Kelly and Aoife Nash, Solicitors will attend our meeting to discuss the importance of making a Will, putting in place Enduring Power of Attorney and other legal matters. This is a very important talk and I would encourage all to attend.

TUAM BUTCHERS CYCLE   We are delighted to have been nominated as the charity of the year for 2014 by the Tuam Butchers. We launched the fundraiser last Sunday night with Mike Denver. We will have more information on the this wonderful fundraiser at the meeting.

COFFEE MORNING IN KILIMORDALY COMMUNITY CENTRE  Brendan and the Mitchell Family have organised a Coffee Morning on Saturday the 22nd of March, 2014 between 10am and 1 o'clock. If you are in the area please support.

MEMBERSHIP FORMS  If you have not returned your Membership Form with membership fee please do so as soon as possible to Marie. Our Membership forms are for our records only and enables us to send out notices of meetings and other important information.

VALENTINE COFFEE MORNING  A big Thank You to all who attended our annual Valentine Coffee morning in the Clayton Hotel. It was a great success and thank you to Caroline for the lovely Love Biscuits and all at the Clayton.

PHYSiO CLASSES/SPEECH AND LANGUAGE  Classes have started in Athenry, Tuam and Galway City. They are of huge benefit to all who attend. If you wish to get involved in the next session of classes please contact Marie.

SINGING CLASSES  We have had some interest in continuing our singing classes. If you are interested in taking part please contact Marie.

TAI CHI CLASSES/YOGA/SET DANCING.  If you are interested you might please let Marie know. They are open to members, their spouses, carers etc. We will have information on the night of dates.

Tuam Butchers with Mike Denver

Sometimes volunteering has added benefits!!! - The Galway Parkinsons Association team were delighted when Mike Denver lent his support to the launch of the Tuam Butchers Fundraising Drive.  We are delighted to have been chosen as the nominated charity for the Tuam butchers who have been raising money for local charities for the last 14 years.  Please watch this website and our facebook page for details of their upcoming events.  Special thanks to Johnny Ryan Photography for providing us with this great photograph.

We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year and we hope that 2014 will be as good as 2013.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

Our christmas party is on SUNDAY THE 12TH OF JANUARY 2014 IN THE CLAYTON HOTEL. THRE WILL BE MASS AT 1 PM FOLLOWED BY LUNCH. WE WILL REMEMBER OUR MEMBERS WHO PASSED AWAY DURING THE YEAR AT OUR MASS AND OUR CHOIR WILL PROVIDE THEY HYMNS.

MEMBERSHIP FORMS

Herewith our own Membership Form for 2013/2014 and Membership Form from PAI Dublin. We would be obliged if you might please complete the form and return together with cheque in the sum of €25.00 (payable to Galway Parkinsons) and return to Marie at your convenience. VALENTINE COFFEE MORNING

We will be having our annual Valentine Coffee morning in the Clayton Hotel in February. We will have confirmation of the date at the meeting.

PHYSiO CLASSES

As you will be aware we will be starting classes in Galway on the 12th of January 2013 and if you wish to par take please get a letter from your GP to confirm that you can do group classes and a list of your medication. Please forward the letter to Marie and telephone to confirm that you will be attending.
